Joan Posey
Licensed Massage Therapist, and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner

Joan received her massage therapy training at Baltimore School of Massage in 1995, with training in Swedish, deep tissue, and myofascial release. In 2009, she completed the comprehensive Healing Touch Practitioner program in various trainings throughout the country.

Joan is a professional member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals, and a charter member of Healing Touch Program Association, has completed numerous advanced trainings in massage and Healing Touch, and is a volunteer with Hospice of Charles County.

Healing Touch was the first energy therapy to offer a certification program for its practitioners. To become a practitioner, one must complete 114-118 hours of instruction with certified instructors, and undergo a one year mentorship with a certified practitioner/instructor of Healing Touch. Apprentices must perform and document 100 sessions and a complete case study. Practitioners and apprentices abide by a professional scope of practice and code of ethics.
